This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs a built-in appearance and top-of-the highest quality food preservation.

This fridge was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never moving more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential to preventing freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also did well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with a standard French door design, and two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set crisper drawers. The upper right shelf can be folded down to give taller items more room. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the great things about this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, making it simple to move ice into the fridge to use as needed. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, too, like sliding drawers that help better organize the placement of your items. It also comes with a large bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food items and an additional storage bin for ice.

The other issue we have with this refrigerator is its doors. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to pull closed without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a bit less than the best counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it a popular choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of grey-bodied stainless steel which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
